paint for outdrives

Blakes say it is suitable for use on aluminium alloys but because it contains a copper compound it must be applied over a suitable epoxy primer to avoid contact with the aluminium

But read all the details on the Product data sheet

The safety data sheet reveals that the copper compound is copper thiocyanate

International Trilux also contains copper thiocyanate

Blakes Mille Drive is copper free but should still be applied over "Underwater primer" to avoid direct contact

Thanks for your input. Im going to give it a go. As the drives and transome shield are already painted, no bare alluminium,a rub down with 120 grit ,for a key, and on it goes. Will let you know how it performs in a year or two!
