hi, only ever having dealt with wood and steel boats I now have an old 70's glass workboat. i was looking to give it a lick of paint in my usual sandtex primer and gloss combo. works well on wood and steel and holds up well enough for a work boat, not looking to have a show piece. Anyway, just read that you shouldn't use oil based paints on fibreglass. how much of an issue is this? im not looking to go 2 pack and spend a fortune. what are the issues for using oil based paints with fibreglass, specifically sandtex flexi primer and gloss?
thanks in advance.

I did look at prekote as a primer. I guess I'm just wondering why oil based like the sandtex Flexi primer and gloss are said to be bad idea for fiberglass when on wood and metal it's one of the best paints I've ever used on a boat. Jotun pilot would be my next choice for topcoat but I don't wanna get the primer/undercoat wrong and have it react/peel from the glass.
