Leave a ziploc bag in the cockpit. Contained therein the grease syringe for reapplying, a small rag for wiping your key clean and a pebble from the beach so it all doesn't fly away.

He's a farmer up on the moors, the problem locks are on his field gates not the boat.:D

Oh, a Practical Bovine Owner? Well, strike out "in the cockpit" with "by the gate". I'm sure he can find a pebble substitute somewhere if there's no beach nearby - or even keep a rag in the car :)

Car! I think he's of the Land Rover persuasion so will probably be looking for something to stop his "nuts" freezing up as well:rolleyes:

My bosun has horses in a field, her lock is a combination one and a small bottle of car lock antifreeze is all she ever need to work it. it's kept in the 4WD glove compartment.

Old army trick to defrost frozen things like locks and windscreens is to pee on them. I know it sounds nasty but it works.
