padded bum

Now I know this forum is the font of all knowledge so...........

I want to replace/buy some more sailing trousers with padded knees and bum,
preferably with a zip on the ankle (old canterbury style)
Do you think I can find them - fat chance - Musto have gone all trendy and seem to be catering for the fashion victim rather than yachties with regard to their 'casual' clothes same with Gill and H.LLoyd.
I've been into a couple of well known chandlers in S'ton and Bristol with no luck

Can anyone point me in the right direction please or know who still makes them?

Or does anyone know of a good alternative e.g. of a Manufacturer of 'protective' clothing. ( where do carpet layers get their padded knee trousers from?) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Allgadgets certainly do offshore waterproofs (unless you don't count this as clothing) and at £70 for a complete suit (trousers and jacket) in a breathable material, is exceptional value for money!

Oh yes they do - see Brendan's link. I have an excellent set of breathable offshore oilies from them which set me back a little over £70 and have a set on order for SWIMBO. Ps on All Gadgets

Ordered some NASA bits on standard delivery , not express. They arrived two days later, which I reckon is pretty good going. And a good price too (although this is my 3rd Navtex aerial - which tends to put the overall cost up a bit - I reckon NASA embrace the concept of planned obsolesence)

Carpet fitters (& people with dodgy knees who convert barns...) use Snickers trousers with slot in knee pads. With thermals underneath they also do a great job of keeping knees warm. Thoroughly recommended.
