I have just spent the best part of 5 hours re-scanning and calibrating a chart of the Bristol Channel and SW England - ony to find that the resoloution is unusable!

Anybody have a pre-scanned copy of this area, or tips on to scan quickly!

Why not use Seaclear anyway ?

It is more marine orientated .......... Ozi is good - very good, but has a land style to it having been developed for Aussie outback orienteering.

Re: Why not use Seaclear anyway ?

I use oziexplorer as they have a pocket pc version. Seaclear will not run on a pocket PC unfortunately.

Oziexplorer has better features than Maptech, just a pain in the arrrse to scan in charts!

I compromise ...

I run Seaclear on PC and Ozi-CE on PDA ... using Passthru to provide data feed to PDA.

This way I get the better Ozi-CE which I think is better tham most CE stuff, but still a marine based charting prog. on the PC.

But as with most things its down to what you are used to and like.

I do admit that Ozi-ex PC version is installed so that I can generate the CE-MAP files from the charts etc. But I cannot get on with it .... to navigate anyway - doddle to create the MAP files though ....
