New tenants operating at The Oystercatcher this year, they’ve been open about a month. The building has been smartened up, customer service much improved, food & beers good. Buoys in the bay £10/night. We enjoyed a couple of nights there, worth the effort of travelling up the Loch. Recommended. Open Tue-Sun 11.00 to 23.00. Food at lunchtime and evening. I really hope they can make it work.

There seems to always be new tenants here. I knew one couple who took on the tenancy some years ago. They loved it. They were also keen sailors and had their boat moored there. An idyllic life in a really beautiful spot. They lasted just over 2 years. It was the third winter which which made them give up.

Yes, it is an isolated spot, it has to be very special to draw people there by car. It’s also a slog up the loch by sailing yacht and too far for the motorboaters because of the fuel cost. Nonetheless, the new tenants, chef patron is ex services, seem very competent and focussed, I feel if anyone can make it work he will. I wish them well.
