Have just returned home after a "full" haemorrhoidectomy.......Anyone know when I may feel like going for sail again??!!....Otherwise, your sympathy would be much appreciated...And yes, it is the ultimate pain in the A***E

Sounds a lot worse than my Cyst. And that was bad enough.

I believe Sikaflex do a marine Preparation H.

Your report reminds me of a brief stay in a cottage hospital back in the 80's- they only dealt with minor surgical cases as the hospital had no resident doctors only nursing staff- the surgeons would have ops. in the mornings and return to the main hospital some miles away.

Anyway their specialities, were piles, hernias and orthopaedic case(I had three toes on each foot filleted- knuckles removed and big toes pinned).

I was flat on my back for 5 days so I could see all the other happy souls- the hernia cases were creeping around bent like half-opened penknives, not daring to cough laugh, sneeze etc.- the 'piles' lot I never really got to see much on their feet as they always seemed to be resting on their same side, twisting their heads round like owls to try to converse with the bloke in the next bed. However having resisted the increasing urge to visit the lavatory during the days they were there most of them eventually had to give in and the fear was palpable, matched only by the look of relief upon their return to the ward
