I think he has a pool of instructors so may have one closer than you think. We had an ex RN guy showing us the ropes.. Really good. We also used Tim Griffin in the Bavaria when we took delivery, think he is IOW

Tim Griffin, over on the Isle of Wight. Not used him, but have only heard good things. When I first bought Rafiki, I used a guy call Steve Jones to show me the ropes and make sure I could get going, and park. She was quite daunting after my Sunline, and Steve was superb, gave me a lot of confidence. He does a mix of training, and skippering, moving boats from a2b. He is based at Poole, so only 45 mins from Southampton. PM me if you want the tel number.

I can teach you to bash the pontoon - and my rates are very reasonable. It's "missing the pontoon by six inches" that is more expensive!
