As a paint conditioner this stuff is superb. It helps to remove brush marks, keeps a wet edge much longer and makes the paint so much more fluid and nice to use.
Never tried it as as wood sealer. The part I'm interested in is its anti rust property's.

Owatrol Oil is versatile, highly penetrating air drying oil that can be used alone or added to paint. Used alone as a rust inhibitor it provides a tough, flexible finish, driving out excess moisture and air; displacing it from rusted metal, so stopping rust dead in its tracks. Used alone on porous wood surfaces it will saturate and protect the wood from damage caused by moisture and prevent paint from peeling.

Has anyone used it for rust problems ?

I used it on my trailer wheels and I am impressed by the results. There is now a surface sheen and no new rust.

I used as a rust inhibitor and I think it is great. But if you are going to want to overcoat with something, it cannot work with a No 3 based thinner such as Anti-foul. Owatrol CIP is designed for that e.g. under the water and I found that excellent as a primer on TG's keel. The best primer I ever tried.

I've just used Polytrol from Owatrol to re-blacken UV faded black plastic - worked a treat and only £5 for a sample tin. I used a very small amount.

For those without the benefit of being raised in Bristol/Somerset: After all these positive product reports, I think this company must be the one Fred Wedlock sung about in the early 70s; you might enjoy the names he suggests were thought about before Owatrol chosen.
