Both the Boreal and Garcia are great boats

In many ways these boats fulfil a very similar design brief, but there are significant differences.

I do believe that the Chatam boats were designed by Gilbert Caroff. Harlé designed (amongst others) the Romanée.

Yes, you are correct. They're both very experienced at designing robust off-route aluminium voyaging boats though.

Would have said it is more like telling a Mercedes owner they could have bought a Ford Mondeo cheaper. Either way it is pointless as the Mercedes owner knows this and still wants a Mercedes and not a Mondeo

Is this thread still active? Is this about alu yachts or about high latitude yachts. If so, it would be great to also discuss insulation. Double glazed windows. A boat needs to be more than an alu can that won't sink and is able to sail up wind. Any thoughts?​
