Overwintering on French Canals

I hope to travel down the Soane/Rhone this summer and winter in the Canal du Midi/Geronne.
I would be grateful for any useful tips especially contact details for a good safe yard for overwintering.

Have spent many years in France but have not yet ventured south of Chalon sur Soane
