Hi. Does anyone have any recommendation for a cheap overwintering location around the Amsterdam/Harlem area? Either afloat or ashore (almost certainly outside due to budget!). Yacht only, as we'll be returning to the UK. Many thanks!

I had 2 winters at Amsterdam Marina as I had an annual berth there. Expensive by Dutch standards but far cheaper than East coast uk marinas So cheap and pricey at the same time!!

PS. It rains a lot and your boat will go green.

You could try Yachthaven Aeolus we used it a few times over the last two years , most will head for sixhaven but we prefer Aeolus it’s a small club just a 10 min walk to the ferry for the centre. Nothing special but it has clean showers and toilets and a club house with cheap beer .
everyone friendly

Thanks all. I will check these out. I had been trying to remember where Wildings was hauled out! I've also spotted some good rates on the Zaanse Sas and, a little further away, at Huizen. The boat is coppercoated, so she doesn't 'need' to come out (although she's been afloat for a while now... ☺️). Should I (realistically) be worried about ice, now that we're getting further north? Thanks again.

I'm aware that they let the smaller canals freeze over in the city centre but as far as I know the marinas off the Nordzee canal (IJ) don't freeze. In fact, because A'dam marina is part of a group of marinas many bethholders from Regatta Medemblik (for example) come over to A'dam to overwinter. I do know there is ice boat sailing on some of the meers around Amsterdam some winters which suggests it gets darn cold away from the city. I'm sure you'll be able to find out more about all this during the course of your enquiries. For me, it was great to be able to fly into Schipol and be tucked up on board within an hour or so. Happy days.
