So I read from cnn that all visitors must quarantine for 10 days on arrival. Depending on country of origin, this will either take place at a hotel or at your place of residence. Even those testing negative will still need to quarantine. So If i visit UK I'll to spend 10 days in quarantine? Isn't that a little bit extreme?

A pandemic is extreme panaras, your quarantine period is a walk in the park.

Is this true guys? Any news?

The Scottish Government gateway web page to all things Covid. Includes travel information and a handy pdf document about what can and can not be done in the different Tiering levels, but in general terms i.e. sailing is not specifically mentioned. Similar page for the UK and England, search on line for that.

The guidance on travel is in a subsection of the website BoB linked to - here: Coronavirus (COVID-19): international travel and managed isolation (quarantine) - gov.scot
Travelling to Scotland from abroad
You should only travel to Scotland if you have an essential reason to do so. At the moment, holidays are not a legal reason to travel.
If you do have an essential reason to travel from abroad, it is likely you will need to isolate in a hotel or at home in Scotland for at least 10 days after you arrive. What you need to do depends on whether your journey is directly to Scotland or not.
The situation is evolving worldwide, so it is important that you check all guidance before you travel.
It would appear that, at present, you need an essential reason to travel and to quarantine.

Unfortunately the powers that be do not understand 'Sailing' and its isolation. Why am I a risk anchored a 100m off the coast self contained in my plastic bubble comparable to a wild camper wandering amongst the populace looking for food, water and facilities?
Am I the only one to suffer from severe heads scratching last year that yachts having spent 3 weeks isolated at sea to arrive at the Azores then were not allowed ashore and had to self isolate for 14 Days?

Unfortunately the powers that be do not understand ...

It's a pandemic, big decisions were required to be made quickly, with a fair degree of uncertainty. A blanket approach is a reasonable expectation rather that trying to cater for every nuance and whim; unsurprising that there are some odd consequences. I would have thought that was obvious considering the global nature and urgency around the whole matter.

Thanks for the infos!! I just hope for a better summer and for a better future as well. The only good thing that I found out, is that the platform that we chartered our boat is going to refund our trip in case we can't come to UK. It's called Yacht Charters, Vacation, Cruises & Sailing | BednBlue . Hope that I will visit this amazing country!!
