On starting my engine from cold the other day, the overheat alarm came on, both on the panel light and the buzzer. The engine is definitely NOT overheating and the temperature guage reads correctly. Any ideas to sort it out would be gratefully received. Engine is a Perkins Prima 50. Many thanks.

I'm in unknown territory here so words of one syllable welcome! I'd assumed that as the temp guage reads OK then sensor would be too. If this might not be the case, please explain the check for the non-electrically minded. Many thanks.
