Outnumbered!

This must be a record year for visiting NB's and mooring has been a real pain, but they aren't the only boats who leave a large gap. Personally, I'd be too embarrassed to eat my dinner if I was parked in the middle of two spaces.

Have some people ditched their leisure batteries in favour of a generator or is it just that a lot of big marina based boats need 240v to run a TV? I live under the flight path and my boat is a tranquil escape for me and the family, easily ruined by a power tool banging away all day and into the night. I had to ask a few owners to pack it in, I wish they'd ban the things.

One thing I don't like about canal craft, is the owners tend to sit on the front of their boats (and we sit on the back of ours) so when I move along to make room, I'm only a few feet from the next conversation.

Has anyone seen the burgundy NB around pangbourne that was pushing it's own custom made garage? It brings the meldrew out in me;)

What annoys me more is when they leave their engine running for what seems like all day. They go and sit at the opposite end 57ft away to get away from the noise yet believe it is fine to leave us a few feet away from the noise, fumes and smell. :(

I've seen it twice. I found it quite amusing. I also saw an appx. 30 foot wooden launch with a garden shed on it as the accommodation.

Strangely rolls are reversed here today in pretty much the same ratio as yesterday so the is still hope.
Get the feeling that many of them are now wending their way back to the canals for the winter. We certainly didn't see as many of them down our way last weekend, there was actually spare space on the Weybridge moorings

The migration has started. Long columns them heading upstream today past Goring towards Oxford. Gave them a cheery wave of course.:)
