I have just received an email from WMYC with this included:

Subject: **RECOVERED PROPERTY - BELIEVED STOLEN** [NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED]
URGENT
I am investigating recent thefts of outboard engines and it would be of great help to the investigation if I could identify the owners of property which I believe to have been recently stolen but possibly not reported to police as yet.
The first two pictures relate to a SILVER HONDA 5HP OUTBOARD – SER. NO. BADS2406009.
The rest of the pictures show a SOUTHERN PACIFIC 350 DINGY SER. NO. NZ-QFX05861D with a
SILVER HONDA 5HP OUTBOARD – SER.NO. BADE2011923 (Recovered by police together but not necessarily stolen together)
The first HONDA engine believed stolen in JANUARY 2014 – possibly from WEST MERSEA area.
Other items are thought to have been stolen more recently – location of theft unknown.
Please contact me on the below number if you can help otherwise feel free to pass this onto anybody who may be able to assist with the identification of any of the above items.

I have spoken to Shaun Heckles and he was happy (and indeed keen) for me to post this. He confirms that outboard covers are still available and that they know of no thefts where the covers had replaced the usual lids. there are some photos of the recovered property which I am just uploading to photowhatsit and will add in another post. BTW, they have arrested one individual. Identification of the property stolen is essential to help complete the case.
