Anyone know the most simple, stable and safe way to store a 5 hp outboard on a speed boat which would be doing 20-30 knots.
It's a 25 foot fibreglass hull speed boat. It has a cabin in the front with minimal storage that wouldn't fit the outboard anyway, on the deck however is a storage locker which has potential to store the outboard providing it fits, the boat is kept in Portugal so I am unable to check the dimensions of the locker. I don't think it will fit though. I have a bathing platform on the bow where I intend to store the 2.4 metre inflatable but could really do without a permanent fixings to the fibreglass hull so looking for something temporary but sturdy, this is become increasing difficult to find as there is minimal options if any on the market.

Any advice helpful

Many Thanks

I've a 25 foot cruiser with an outboard and wanted an auxiliary so fitted a bracket like this one you get on Gaelforce 'Trem Outboard Motor Bracket rated to 20hp £109.99' and it works a treat. Easy to lower when I want to use the auxi and strong enough to handle the chop when doing 30+ knots without the 6hp auxi I have bouncing about. I attached a bungie to the leg and secured to the hook on the transom to reduce bounce. Make sure you put a plate behind the gran some when securing.
