Hi all,
I have an Archimedes Penta 120 twin 2-stroke (12hp I think), and I stripped down the leg to replace the impeller. Unfortunately, the gear selector plate which pushes against the gear shaft to select/de-select gear has a small piece broken off.
I have the piece and it is a really clean break. My question is, as I am unlikely to find a second-hand or new part, is it possible to manufacture or weld the hardened part?
I have read somewhere it is possible to pre-heat then MIG weld it letting it cool down naturally. Anyone got any experience or ideas please?
