Although just picked up pretty nice 2 stroke tohatsu 3.5, I still want to get 2 HP mariner working again because it's so light. To get it passing water again need to get the leg off to check impeller, clean out passages etc. The bolts come off OK but won't separate. Someone told me boiling water was best way to deal with aluminium/aluminium corrosion - is this true, I can't think why? (Yes I have tried to clean out the water outlet with a stick but I can't get the water outlet cover off - pretty well everything below the head is immovable except g/box oil screws)
