Is there any electronic ignition kits available for 2cyl 2stroke outboard engines. It would be of benefit for owners of older small HP engines ( around 1980s)

Are there many outboards with mechanical points still running? I would have thought that most of them had long since gone to meet their maker, Seagulls excepted? :ambivalence:

I had a 5HP air cooled Cresent a few years ago that was as good as gold. I cleaned the points, adjusted them to give the correct timing and it started and ran very well.

I did replace the shear pin-it had a bit of old nail in the drilling......................................

Pain in the backside ...you will need to get the timing spot on and somewhere secure to bolt the coils
