Outboard Gear Oil Type

I have two old outboards that (usually) run OK. I'd like to replace the gear oil in them before use this year. Can anyone advise on the type of oil that I should get? As usual I went online to purchase something and found there are 100 different types, so I ended up confused.

The motors are:

Yamaha P65 3.5hp
Evinrude Yachtwin 6hp

Can the same oil be used in both of these ageing outboard relics?
 
Any outboard gear oil thats around EP 80W 90.
If you find a bog standard grade and a more expensive grade (for large modern outboards) use the bog standard grade.

Quicksilver is a brand you will find almost everywhere.

I use ordinary automotive EP90 gear oil in my Evinrude but I am not recommending that you do. Outboard gear oil contains emulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors to counter the effects of water ingress.

Perfect!
But dont pay that much and 4.50 postage if you can get to a local Force4 or other major chandler

Get a pump if you like but you may need different connectors for different make outboards. I bought one lot in a squeezy bottle. I refill the same old squeezy bottle.

Its advised to to renew the seals on the drain and level screws. the E'rude probably has flat nylon washers under the heads of the screws. Dunno about the Yamaha but replace with the same type (some E'rudes have O rings and very slightly different screwplugs)

Didn't see that, thanks. Yes it's a bit of a rip off isn't it. I'll have a look round. Soon adds up doesn't it.
