Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has a diy method of flushing an outboard engine when there is no mains water available?...I am toying with the idea of using a 12v submersible pump, the type that plugs into a ciggy lighter, and dropping it into a 20 lt or so water carrier and with a length of hose, connect it up to the flushing socket on the engine (2015 Suzuki 70hp) while the engine is in its raised position.....any thoughts?

the pump tend to work pumping with an open end not sure if you would get the flow needed ,not sure though

I can't see there being a problem with that. I used to static flush my DF115 from the pontoon hosepipe, the water pressure was very low but I still managed to get a good flow out of the pee hole on the engine.
