Outboard engine inspection - Midlands

Looking at buying a secondhand outboard motor from a guy who lives near Stratford upon Avon. Anyone know who to approach re possible inspection as my knowledge very limited. Would also consider using same firm/person to service and install. Recommendations gratefully received.

There was a place called Hollywood Marine, Studley sort of way, that sold and serviced outboards, that's quite close to Stratford. Don't know what brands or even if they're still there. Also another place at Bassetts Pole island, Sutton Coldfield, I think they're now called Seamark Marine. There is also a place at Henley marina, think that's Honda, but maybe others as well.

Unfortunately looks like Hollywood Marine are no longer. Web site down, email returned and no 'phone answer. Henley not into outboards so any more/other suggestions please.

Only other place I know is T J Harvey, but that's more Wolverhampton. Try Seamark Marine, they're not so far away?

edit: it might be T L Harvey actually.

Harvey's are Suzuki agents - they do my dinghy outboard. Can recommend them. Not too far from Stratford on Avon - especially if you work in Birmingham /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ask for "J" ( Jaden ) who runs the chandlery and maintains all their hireboat outboards. They are a Mariner agent but he may be happy to give you advice or give your potential purchase the onceover.
