out o'here!

We've just made Boulogne (only 2 weeks off, me) and it was a hard slog into a F5 south westerly. Family not v happy, although they've quickly forgotten their displeasure now we're here.

Not sure I could get away with a 3-4 day bash down channel...

We had the same slog too Monday - Wednesday. The NW that was forecast never arrived so we ended up beating all the way and motoring into the wind when the tide was against us too. Saw Morgana tied up in Cherbourg on Wednesday.

Next day we went to Alderney. NW from Cherbourg. Guess which way the wind was....

Then off to Sark. South into the (returned) southwesterley. Finally got a reach down to Jersey on Saturday. Cracking sail it was too. St Helier was absolutely rammed. Rafts 8 deep on the holding pontoon and 3(!) deep in the marina. Absolutely manic...

I'm now returned to Cambridge for a week, before returning to Jersey for a two week cruise around the islands and making our way up the French coast to Dover.
