A short while ago there was a post on the subject of forum lurkers, it made me feel guilty so now I've registered. I suspect that there may be others like me who have perhaps messed about with boats in the past but are no longer actively involved and so don't feel we have any useful/practical contributions to make to the discussions.

I must admit I'm on this particular board under false pretences, we (my husband & I) used to be raggies with a brief interlude as ragpotters. Boating was mostly dinghies, graduating through to Jaguar 21; our last boat. Our last sailing was done more than 12 years ago. Middle age & other priorities took over, however there has been some discussion at home recently about Wayfarers...........

The reason for writing to this particular board is the sheer entertainment you have all given me over the past year. If it's a really dull day in the office, I can usually be sure that on this or one of the other boards there'll be something to amuse and I must admit educate me.

I don't think it's very likely that I'll post often (probably on an annual basis), but at least you'll see me lurking now. So until next Christmas, thank you.

May Santa bring you your heart's desire in your Christmas stocking? Although looking at Byron's recent post I suspect his wish will be to retain all of his anatomy.

With good wishes for fair winds & peaceful harbours in 2003.

I retired from performing in panto a couple of year's ago. I felt that I couldn't improve on that particular role as a leading performer...........

My theatrical expertise is now limited to "behind the scenes", I'm Chief Dresser for the male cast. In other words, I really do put "Men In Tights".

Although after several years I'm not sure if that's a penance or a pleasure.

Better than being the back end with Pheran in the front after he's had a dozen pints of Guiness followed by a cabbage and pork pie curry.</font color=blue>

Re: Out of the closet and in to the s**t

Thanks for your thoughtfulness. However, I suspect that the your chat room is likely to most used after my normal "Dolly Parton" hours.
