Below is a short video of our Trip from Suffolk UK to the Isle of Wight via the ferry with our 4.5 m Rib.
We are staying at a Caravan park on the Island and leaving the Rib at East Cowes Marina for 5 nights which I felt was very reasonable at £75 total.
We launched at the Folly Inn Slipway on the Medina River which was interesting as I tried to launch at just after high water. As the slip only starts just down the beach about half water would have been a far better time.......... One lives and learns.

Below is a video of the travel day and the first day of our weeks holiday.

Nice to bump into you today , not sure if you are aware but if you want to visit Cowes by rib, there is a place just past the red jet ferry ,that you can leave your rib , it's often easier than finding parking for a car .

Some great memories there. Rolling out of The Kings Head in Yarmouth was a weekly occurrence ?

The run up to Newport is very nice ?

Day 3 of our Isle of Wight Adventure - Up the Medina to Newport on the tide and a quick pop into Osbourn Bay and Cowes by drone in the Rain

And our Hardy 42 a rather prominent backdrop! A cameo from our rib at the start of the East Cowes bit as well.

Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Went out last night to Osborn and now I know what you locals mean by Solent Chop. It seems to hit you from all directions there were large waves then it was just small ones Quite a challenge in a 4.5 m rib.

We like the 4.5 as it is very versatile for towing around the country on an unbraided trailer and can cope with quite a lot. I think for the Solent 5.5 m would be better but then you tend to move up to a braked trailer which causes all sorts of issues when dunked in the salty stuff.

off to Bembridge in the Itiwit today

Great stuff! ... watching you having fun in your rib made me wonder about the hundreds of thousands I've spent on boats over the years! Good for you! .... (y)
Many thanks

We have boats from canoes, small Sibs, the rib, 15-19 foot fletcher speed boats and our largest a Sealine S24. I honestly think that we get more stress free boating (if that is possible) from our very smallest boats.
I think boating is very much a horses for courses thing

what ever boat I am in I constantly listen to the engine convinced that at some point it will have an issue. I call it Engine Ear.

Not applicable on the Canoe of course ?

Great video of what looked like a great time? For your new flag, I think you could get away with one size larger???
