Our Trip to Scotland and Rib on the Loch

Had another lovely day out on the Loch yesterday. Loch Lomond makes me feel bad about the boating areas we have on the east coast

Thanks for posting video of your trip to Loch Lomond. In what way does Loch Lomond make you feel bad about the boating areas on the east coast?

Well the Loch is so lovely, There is no tide and it is Fresh water. I still love where I boat however

Thanks for taking the time to answer. It does look spectacular, I hadn't considered the freshwater / non tidal aspects. I'm hoping to take a trip up to the Loch later in the year with with my wife and youngest kids to play in our small RIB, your video and comments have helped to confirm that it's probably a good decision.

A friend of yours was kind enough to introduce me to the Orwell and Stour recently, I can't wait to get back over there to explore more of the area.

A good place to leave your rib while at the Loch is Loch Lomond Marina. We left out 4.5 m Rib on a pontoon for about 7 nights for £100. This was very good value and allowed us to use it as we wished. The Price might vary a bit in high season but it should still work out good value. Dont forget to Register your boat which is required for Loch Lomond.

I Suspect it was Chris (Orwell Boy) you met. I am sure you will enjoy Loch Lomond it is huge and the Islands are lovely. Remember however when it is windy it can get quite rough

Thank s again for the info on Loch Lomond, the Loch Lomond marina sounds ideal.

Your suspicion is correct, Chris was very generous with his time and knowledge, I had a great day out. Had my van not developed a fault this afternoon I would have travelled over to Levington again next week, unfortunately I have to postpone until it's fixed.

When you next go let me or Chris know as soon as possible and if we can we will come and join you.

I’d love to visit Loch Lomond as well. That freshwater environment sounds perfect for a relaxing boating experience, even if I’m used to tidal waters :)

I’m excited to visit Loch Lomond in a month. It seems like a fantastic spot, not necessarily for boating :)
Will you be taking the high road or the low road?
