We took the slightly bigger boat out last week around the Med. I showed this to one of the Med experts and apparently we managed to hit a few of the more popular spots. He correctly identified every brick, cobble and dog turd - there are far more dog turds around the Med than Gosport…..

Anyway, for all non UK boaters see if you recognise any of the places. Joking aside the ports of call were stunning. Although a big ship we were smaller than many so able to tuck into tighter spots. I’m not sure I anticipated climbing quite so many steps though 😎

Despite the song, ‘Hey it’s Toulon’.... I don’t think it was🤔
Nice to see so many young people on the dance floor
Looks like a really nice cruise....I would go on one but it’s not the wife’s thing.... I don’t think I could go on my own, too many widows...I’d be taking my life in my hands🤷‍♂️😳

Seabourn is very much not like mainstream cruising. I filmed the only times there was a crowd. Most of the time you have loads of space to yourself and the staff are running around keen to sort you out with drinks or what ever you need.

If it wasn’t for the climbing ashore I’d have put on a lot of weight.

Wonderful to have the return of the Henry video. Thank you H.

Looks like a lot of hooray henries.
No, far from it.

Seabourn are an upmarket cruise line but actually quite laid back. There’s no competition for status in their loyalty program or demarcation by cabin class. Everyone talks to everyone else, has a free run of the ship and there’s a mix of nationalities.

The demographic tends to be a bit older but there were a few kids on this trip. It’s not for everyone and more formulaic than independent boating or land based trips but you know sometimes it’s nice to have someone else steer the ship and in this case the captain hails from the New Forest and can be seen on the Solent in a smaller motor boat when not in uniform.

😎

What a lovely video.

I recognise the Mallorca bits of it too.

Wifey has been nagging me to do a cruise and i have always avoided, feeling they will be expensive, crowded and just not me. But i’ve seen more recently that they are very reasonably priced indeed and with video’s like this, i’m ever more tempted to give it a go.

Thanks for posting.

No worries.

There is a massive difference between the different cruise companies with many offering the over crowded experience you talk of.

Seabourn offer a very different experience with lots of space per person on board and a good value all inclusive package.

I would suggest opting for their basic cabin which would be a junior suite on most other lines. You don’t get any on board enhancements by climbing up the cabin grades other than a bigger cabin.

This particular cruise had some great ports of call and being a smaller ship (compared to the 4,000 passenger giants) we were able to get into more intimate ports and anchorages.

I wouldn’t say cruises are our only way to travel, I like independent al fresco travelling as well, but every now and again having a cruise is fun.

So treat the old girl to one.
