Watch the carpets, dont let it get into beds, dont let its cuteness persuade you to relax either of these rules. Dont feed it any dairy products at all.....formula food like Iams plus a littled boiled chicken meat and thats it except for maybe the odd little spillers mini gravy bones biscuits as a reward for good behaviour.
You have probably got used to being at Number 4 in the family pecking order...well you are now number 5 ! Enjoy.

Funny Ive always felt like number 5 even though until today there were only 4 of us!

Your advice exactly as the breeder said so will stick to it.

Oh and here's another family shot of Skipper with one of his brothers, Winston.

Ugly bugger

Bloody hell he'll have to grow a fair bit, how did you teach him to put on a jumper and sit on a chair at the table. Also you shouldn't let him eat ice cream. How did you get him top wear those glasses?

Your photo should develop into a caption competition...

Agree with boatone and here are a few rules I should have applied before our 'cute little puppy' grew into the monster he is today
No drinking from the toilet bowl
No sniffing of visitors private parts
No sniffing of other dogs' private parts (difficult to enforce that one)
No mounting of neighbours' children (neutering fixed that)
No howling at the foot of the bed when Daddy and Mummy are doing what Daddy and Mummy occasionally do
No eating upholstery in Daddy's new car

I'm informed by "Bosun" that Jeanette has a degree in "Westie Tummy Stroking". She will hire herself out for a small fee next time we are in Hythe.
( She practised on me - it's definitely worth it !! ) Daren't show her these photos though, I wouldn't stand a chance!!
Have fun.

After about ten years of nagging from SWMBO and daughters I succumbed to buying a dog two years ago my one stipulation being it had to be a Westie.

He (Harry) is now well and truly part of the family (in fact it sometimes seems like he is the head of the family).

He is a great pet, hope you are prepared for 18 months of him chewing up every shoe, piece of clothing, furniture etc. If you haven't shot him by then you will love him.

Do you plan on taking him to the boat? I may have a doggie lifejacket that we don't need anymore if you need one just PM me.

We should get Kim to give us a Westie forum on here, theres you me and Alistair (also Harry), how many other dog owners on here and what breed.

Re: The One And Only Dirty Harry!!

I know, I know, You should take it as a tribute that we chose to give our dog the same name as the Fylde coasts answer to Mr Ed.

My business partner has Winston and the breeder says that its not a good idea to have siblings together but perhaps she was concerned about my bank balance....
