Hi,

Just finished putting together a short vid of some of the highlights from our cruising in 2018. In 2017 we visited Sweden for the first time and felt that there was more to see, so we headed over again this year for our summer holiday.

All in all, a very successful trip. The weather left nothing to ask for, we got to see many nice new places and made it back in one piece. Only drama was a generator impeller which gave up whilst on anchor, and my attempt at flossing, but otherwise all went well. Luckily I had a spare impeller with me so at least that was an easy fix.

We finished off the season in mid October with a week long cruise ending in Inkoo, where the boat stays over the winter. The weather varied but on our last leg the skies cleared and we got to enjoy some pretty perfect weather.

We had such good times.

Great vid (as always K). Hope all well with you.

Thank you, P, all good here. Hope the same with S and yourself.

As a side note, I just stumbled across some footage from the FDC 2013 and commented to my wife how lucky I was to have had the change to experience such a nice trip. Greetings also to Bart and E and the rest of the crew!

Stunning stuff indeed, K. Thanks for sharing it with us! :encouragement:
I was puzzled by the bit with the FL logo on a grey background at 0:39, wazzat?

Besides, ...
Inkoo, where the boat stays over the winter.
...does the weather over there allow you to use her also in the winter?
I would have thought that you must shelter her also along the sea at your latitudes, as you used to do in Saimaa lake.

LOL, the farmer must be a FL fan ;)...

Seriously, it was an editing trick I wanted to try. Place a transparent image on top of the clip and try to match the movement in the scene. Nearly nailed it. Good of you to notice :encouragement:.

Yep, the boat is in a warm shed in Inkoo. The sea freezes up, if it hasn’t already. Time for some winter maintenance. Place can be seen here:

Even a trip to the boat requires drone footage :)

The usual outstanding production work SM, you've set the bar so high, we expect nothing less.

It would be interesting to watch the process of the boats going into and out of the shed for storage. Everything looks so tidy, immaculate and organised.

Very nice video K. Maintaining your super high standards :D

(Looks like Adobe Premiere - ?)

AndieMac, I sold my last boat to a guy in Sweden and his son posts a few videos of the Nordic storage shed process, eg these (you will prob want to fast forward a bit)

The Phantom 43 is a beautiful looking boat , looks like you have had a great season again .

One day I will have another boat for sure .

Blimey, isn't it a quite substantial job, to detach the whole radar arch of a Sq78?
A case of what can't be cured must be endured, I reckon! :D
Yup. Needs a crane! Easier than a HT though :D. I wd love to find a storage shed I could use with the HT, radar and domes all in place. I'm not aware of one except perhaps the N Sardinia one that Med Milo used years ago. N Sardinia isn't convenient to me, mid winter.

Thanks J, impressive rig on the back of a truck.
I was wondering how the boat and cradle were separated from the truck trailer, once inside the shed?

Thank you everyone for the kind words, they are appreciated, even though at the same time I wish I could create something 'proper'.

@AM: there is quite a bit of work in moving the boats around and chocking them up to maximise the space utilisation. Especially in the spring when some of the owners insist on having their boat in the water asap and other boats need to be moved back and fort to accommodate this. That would make for a nice timelapse for sure.

@jfm; how much clearance does Match require, 10 m, 12?
I'm using Final Cut Pro, btw. AFAIK, Premiere is only available through a monthly subscription which is not cheap, so I'm using FCPX as it's bought and paid for and does most things I've needed it for.
