Things are moving along nicely in the southern hemisphere because I have found another catamaran that I really want to buy, so I need to get rid of Stingo ASAP.

Hence my decision to lean forward and take a large kick in the pants. I've just sent an email to Ancasta in Southhampton. Below is an extract:

... I am now prepared to dump her at a rock bottom price. Hence, I will consider all slightly above ridiculous offers, say anything above £29,500-00 in my pocket, so add your commission onto that.

Considering that they originally had her on the market for £55k including comm. OUCH!!!!!

That must be one hell of a catamaran you've found if you're prepared to let Stingo go for that price.

Hi Stingo, notice you're in Durban. Is Stingo an SA cat? Bit of a thread hijack sorry, but I've bought an SA boat and as I'm a UK subject, what is the best way of owning the boat in SA

If Stingo was a cat, I wouldn't be selling her. She's a monohull, Oceanis 390 of 1988 vintage. She has big tits and no morals - every blokes dream. She has a few other credentials too, like she sails really well and has crossed the pond. But features like those would make jimi blush.

Wish I knew the answer to that, but give me a call and let's have several beers and see if we can work that answer out? I am confident that I know enough people to be able to point you in the right direction.

By the way, Stingo is a monohull and on the hard in Trinidad

seriously, what is she like now?

She needs some TLC. She's been out of the water for almost two and a half years now and so simple things like rubber seals will have perished and need to be changed. Trinidad is also a filthy place, and so the deck is black and needs a few hours of pressure washing. Besides that, PM me for a link to my website for a "lift my skirt" view of work that needs to be done.

I'll buy you a castle here in Lincoln

Taxi fare will be cheaper /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: Still for Sale? Sell in Shares?

Brian, there is work that needs doing. Go look at my website... it's all there.

Re: Still for Sale? Sell in Shares?

p.s. Ancasta have advised not to sell so cheaply because it implies there is major work to be done. There is no major work. I really just want to get rid of her ASAP so I can put an offer in on this cat and I need £30k NOW, no more and no less. An extra two or three grand would be nice, but I need the folding stuff now, not in two months time... bla bla bla. You understand the situation.

I am a British subject and own a South African registered boat that wes in Durban to 6-7 years.

There is no problem other Visa and normal VAT problems.

Am building new yacht in JHB amd will register in SA and moor in Durban at RNYC or in Richards Bay at RBYC

PS I drink less than Stingo (who I know well)
