Ostend - who\'s actually going?

Can we have a roll call, name of boat plus crew? Perhaps also when people are leaving/arriving. Might be interesting to look out for one another.

I'll start the ball rolling ...

Centaurpipedream (Alan).

Planning to leave Suffolk Yacht Harbour either Thursday night or early Friday morning. We'll be making a final decision on that when we see what the weather is like/is forecast to be. If the forecast is for some nice stuff and some nasty stuff, might as well make the most of the nice stuff /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

So we should arrive in Ostend anytime Friday afternoon/evening.

Leaving Blackwater on Friday evening - sail up to Harwich - anchor at Ewarton for a few hours kip then set off c. 0500 - should be in Ostend early evening depending on wind strength etc.

Re: Ostend - who\'s actually going?

Crikey Crispin!

If you have capacity for 140 litres you may as well be my fuel dump. If, on arrival at Ostend, I have an embarrassing amount of diesel in my cans, I can just dump it in your tank. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'm hoping that after all your hard work on Revolution she is doing more than 10 litres to the hour, although I think that was about the score through the Kiel canal wasn't it?

If you're planning to set off Thursday morning you'll be way ahead of us, so we won't see you until we arrive at Ostend.

Looking forward to seeing you and seeing the results of all your hard work.

Re: Ostend - who\'s actually going?

Yes Neil, we do realise 10 litres an hour is excessive. My engine does more like 1 litre an hour, often less. I won't spoil things by telling you what Crispin means by 'swimming the rest of the way' as I'm sure it is a tale he would like to tell himself. Dave can fill you in on 'the journey to Kiel' on your passage to Ostend, Crispin can tell you about the journey back once you get in!

Re: Ostend - who\'s actually going?

Excellent turnout, pity about the wind but things could change by the time we set off. Presume that as we are leaving in the early hours of Friday, we will be doing a 360 turn as soon as we reach open waters ?. Or is nobody superstitious ?.
