Is ther an Ostend trip in the pipe line this year?, not sure where the google calendar is to check. If so are there any provisional dates.
Thanks

We need to get it sorted...

The Oostende Voor Anker festival is the weekend after the UK bank holiday weekend, so not lined up nicely...

We, on Morgana, are planning to go the UK bank holiday weekend, which will mean that we miss the festival, but will still get our Moule Frites!

I think that at least a couple of other boats are planning the same... maybe we could use this thread to get an idea of others plans?

I would like to go to the festival weekend as it was brilliant (even though I felt crap last year). Not sure that it is worth the trip otherwise as there are other places I haven't been - except of course the excellent company. Might come the weekend before and stay all week - visit Bruges etc. Hmm that could be a plan.

I liked the idea of travelling in approximate company as I was a North Sea virgin and look forward to doing it in a F3-4 beam reach.

At the moment I don't have a crew which is a slight draw back. I'll see what the consensus is, crew availability and plan round that.

Anything from the 22nd to the 31st May is a goer (half term). I like the idea of a trip 'in company'. Done the southern north sea in our boat but not from as far north as the Deben.

Exactly...

I don't know if you have the week off (we do for the same reasons as Simon by the sound of it!), as we plan to leave Oostend on the Monday (ish) and head for Lowestoft on the way back, and then see if we can get into either Wells or Southwold as part of the trip.

We'll probably leave for Oostende late Friday night/early Sat morn on 23rd May.....

Hoping to be in Ostend on the Saturday night at the start of half term (23rd) on the way to Holland and/or Friday 29th on the way back to Dover. Anyone else fancy a few days in Holland ?

We can leave anytime from Saturday evening (collecting middle daughter from school) and would love a crossing in company.

The admiral has said yes so we are likely to go this year. Our preference would be to leave the Orwell late Fri or very early Sat but haven't looked at tides. We are relaxed about going alone, but it would be fun to do it in company so would be happy to fit in with timing of other leaving the Debwell area early in the weekend.

Hi there
We may well be up for a trip across to Ostende. Haven't done a crossing to the Continent before, so would love to play 'tag along'. We will probably be down at the Shotley shindig in April and will hopefully get to meet up with some of you then. Do we have to wear a red carnation or a silly hat at Shotley to be identified?

A noise
Fools of ourselves

Most welcome to join in..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Silly hats aren't compulsory, but have been seen in regular use in previous years..... reference the master of silly hats, Mr FullCircle....
