Well i thought about revving this trip up a bit for a few days now so here goes. I am up for the trip but i would feel much happier doing it in company but if push comes to shove i will go on my own, yes me and raymond TP if he behaves. Planing ether to go sat 23rd at 00.00 or monday or tuesday 25-26th then returning on the 1st or 2nd of june . I dont know whats there but understand its a good crac all i can remember from many years ago using the port as a lorry driver there was a shop like a cockoo clock that sold cooked chickens and strange Bars with flouresant bulbs in the windows !!! it was harder to get a drink in these but a women of the night was another matter!!! Anybody want to join me ? as crew or to sail in company
 
I'm going twice /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Picking up crew at Shotley and departing 22/5 (early doors probably) and return 24 or 25th.

Going as crew in another Moody 31 "Wild Thing" from Bradwell on 28 or 29/5 and returning 31/5 or 1/6 (don't know as I'm only a winch monkey)

So it seems like I'll meet most people some time /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Will, I'm doing it this year with the salty old CPD (as long as he's no longer Mr Tinkles /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ) but by the sound of it, Mr Sabre will be the man to entrust my chart plotter with for you to check out, if that's alright with both of you ?
I can then get it back off Roger later with a working/not working decision and make further choices from there
 
We plan to leave Levington 23/0200Z. We plan on 5.5kts water speed and ETA 23/1500Z (or about 1700 local time). We are happy to shift the timing up or down an hour two fit in with others, but happy to go alone too.

It seems that at least four (Dualin, Morgana, CPD and us) of us are going in the early morning of May 23 so it looks a bit like some critical mass is building.

We are planning on 02h00LT... so not dissimilar.... 5.5 to 6kts STW.....

Seriously though... for a passage this length, sailing in company doesn't work that well.... but nice to keep in VHF contact for something to do....

Lets organise a working channel nearer the time
 
Mainly because you're not meant to..... 13 is for inter-ship for safety of navigation.....

Normal working channels are 6, 8, 72 and 77...

lets go with 73... its also a intership, but not designated as a safety channel......

Superstition?

I quite like 2182 khz myself. The good folks of Oostende Radio seem positively happy to get a radio check call from off Landguard!

<edit> Just saw Morganas bid for 73. Sounds like a radio channel to me...</edit>
