Ostend Belgium fuel price

thnks, when I spoke to him a couple of months ago he said that belgium would keep red diesel whatever the eu said! maybe just him talking though rather than customs and excise (or whatever the belgium equivalent is!). Hope he's right!
Belgium was always a good place to visit. Might be even more popular in the future.

Nick,
Spoke last week to Customs on our coast about it and they said they were informed about the EU desc. but nothing is going to change for the moment (he ment in the next 2 or 3 years), Belgian parlement always very slow (i realy mean several years)on changing towards EU rules, so hope he is right!

You can not buy any red for boats in Belgium anymore, C&E check what the tankers are putting in the boats so from now on it's:

€ 1.00 / liter >600 litres on 15/05/2007

Thats a bit of a sod, I was rather expecting the Belgians to tell the EU to hike on this one, at least until after my summer hols. One might have hoped that as the lefties have lost France a dose of sense would creep back but alas...

What is Belgium like on biodiesel?

Re: RED IS OVER!

Does fully taxed still apply for non belgium boats? After all Ostende is 'the' place to buy duty free drinks and ciggies etc from the General Stores so long as it being taken out of the country within 24 hours, so wonder if duty free diesel applies as well if it is for the consumption of the crew...?

Wonder if Stefan the tanker guy knows?

Re: RED IS OVER!

Nick,
Stefan is my fixed Supplier for years, i'l check that with him, and get back to you the comming days but i think unless you have a commercial registration (boats for charter) it is white for everyone /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif!

Re: RED IS OVER!

Nick,
Just called Stefan, it is possible but only

1/ if you have a foreign commercial reg. on the boat (charter...) BUT it is with lots of administration & Customs has to be there (at extra cost) while filling.

OR

2/ your destination is outside the EU, but then you end up wit RED in your tanks wich could become a problem in the near future. for example: if i go to the channel islands i could fill up with TAXfree fuel (red).

I'l have a chat with Customs next week and hear from them wat the options could be & get back to the forum with some more info.

Re: RED IS OVER!

Compie
