After contacting many boat mags, I had a phone call this morning from Practical Boat Owner requesting pictures of an Osborne. They are looking at an artical, which will of course reach more Osborne owners out there. I have lost, after my computer crashed some messages from other owners. Would Osborne owners please contact me again as this artical makes a club likely to happen very soon. One message I lost was from someone who ran a club for Osbornes,( now closed ) that had a list of passed owners, would he please connact me again. Sorry at having to request you all to do this again. Finally, any of you guys willing to help in running a club! Many hands make light work etc.

Hello Keith , I sent you an email as I own a 1977 Osborne Falcon 33 (of which I beleive there were only 12 built) and have photos and some original sales literature which may be of interest to you. The vessel is in constant use and we travel about 1200 miles a year in her. Would be interested in joining any owners club or association that you may form.
regards - Rod.

If it helps any, I can send you the 'job descriptions' for each of those roles, as defined by people doing them in a similar 'virtual' club with no headquarters or club house

In order to pull this off, and get going, how do you guys feel about meeting up in November in somewhere like Brighton. I say Brighton because it would seem to be around the middle for most of us. If we can meet, we can all have a chance to say what we want the club to be. Should you not be able to meet, and want a say, e-mail me your ideas.

Keith

OK, I'll dig them out and send them to you. We on our committee did this as an exercise, so that anyone taking over the role in future knew what their responsibilities were. You are no where near as big or organised yet, but a lot of it will be helpful.

Still not sure for what you want to do that you need anything so organised. Just get together a few times, send a few email newsletters, and see if it takes off. Once you are into memberships, you need to seriously think about liability insurance, RYA affiliate membership, etc etc, so you should get the RYA pamphlet on setting up a club. can talk you through this all on phone, as there are many legal ramifications once you start taking membership fees and organising cruises and meets

Brighton is fine with me.

Just a thought, but what about Littlehampton?

I'm at Fareham if any one wants a lift or something.

Littlehampton Is fine with me, I think, anyone in London area have any idea on travelling time. Keith, any ideas on dates. I can not do 19th 20th weekend
