Orwell - winter berth

I spoke to a lady in the office, she was very helpful but can't remember her name. Hopefully I've not got my marinas mixed up, the one on the right as you go in.

We managed to get a berth during the maritime festival and got chatting regarding winter rates etc. i called about a month ago and was given the same info of £1 per foot a week.

Only reason we headed to Ramsgate again was it's only 45 mins away and couldn't face the commute from Kent to Ipswich.

Went in to Neptune today (one on right thru the lock) and spoke with Marc who was very helpful. Think it is Jill in the office from the glossy booklet they gave me. Tel no is 01473 215204.

£1 a foot plus VAT so works out about £20 a month less than Shotley for me.

No planned work on the lock this winter. Close to the night life of Ipswich - maybe the only negative?

Not seen the price of the electrikery.

Close to the night life of Ipswich.......

Having berthed outside Isaacs Bar during the maritime festival..... It quietens down about 2.00 which wakes me up...where's the noise gone???

Thankfully normal service is resumed about 3.00am with an 'I love you!' domestic row that lasts for nearly an hour.

4.00am chronically pi$$ed Polish blokes singing for a bit.

5.30am the bloody motorised street sweeper!

It takes a few days to get in tune with your surroundings - stay up all night drinking and sleep during the day....
