Long Matches are handy. We keep the fuel in the 500ml plastic bottles it comes in from our corner shop.Never had one leak despite some rough treatment.Price varies from about £1.20 to £2 for 500 ml which lasts us a long weekend .
The small disposable gas BBQ lighters are excellent.
I was lucky enough to be given some French stove fuel that comes in strong plastic bottles with a squeezy squirty nozzle under the cap.... I will be refilling the empty bottles with meths as they are really good for filling.
We found a local DIY shop that sold meths in a 2l container.
Also we used a small gas lighter (the type that is filled with gas and has a small flame) as the best way to light- you need one with a slender nozzle to right into the burner
We've used both the "rip off" £14 stainless 2 slice thing with a gauze pyramid inside and a £2 fold out flat jobbie. The latter works really well, but you do have to move the toast around, and keep a very close eye on it as it burns dead quick.
