I have just discovered that five tenders, including mine, were stolen from the dinghy racks at MTYC on Sunbury Lock island about a fortnight back. Presumably for the upcoming boat jumble season and presumably pros as they could not have gone anywhere but into the river and would have needed a pretty big van to carry five boats, of which at least two were ribs.

If anyone hears anything on the grapevine or learns of tenders up for sale I'd be leased to hear from you. I'll find out next week if the insurance will stump up but I'd need to get darned lucky to get a like for like replacement I guess.

Details of my rib are in the Stolen thread.

Sounds more organised than just joyriders. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Mind you, they must have been pretty determined to venture out on the river in a tender when its is flowing so fast...

My post on 15/01/2007 had over 1,200 views, so some people must have been concerned. Do you still think it is safe to have details of your boat AND tender published on the Internet. You say yourself this could have been an organised group! I am not the type of person to say "I told you so" BUT!

Very sorry to hear that.

We had someone try to steal my neighbour's boat, which is rafted up against ours over winter. I got their images on my CCTV and that, what with more substantial evidence from DNA & finger prints off the next boat they tried to nick, might help get those scroats.

You might get more assistance from the Police if you tell them you suspect the thieves were committing motoring offences too.
