I'm launching tomorrow (I know - three days late!!!)

But - I've got crew organised for next weekend - we'll be aiming for Orford

Where is best for dinner Saturday night? Jolly Sailor or Kings Head - or somewhere else not too expensive?

Their menu prices look very similar so quality/quantity info would be good

I have Aldi cassoulet on standby following other recommendations on here but crew may prefer something more classy!

Story of pubs all over by the look of it. Out on the guzzi on Sunday because Gladys had overheated Saturday (stupid poxy 2" piece of hose gave up and deposited freshwater into the bilge) and my efforts to fix (replacing the impellor) had only led to more issues (sheared off cover plate screw).... The Oyster Inn at Butley has also closed not to reopen... One of my favourite food pubs... Went to the Coach and Horses in Melton instead. Very good.

Blimey - that makes it an easy choice (last man standing) - bit sad though that so many are closing.

I can see why though - I've just got back from a pleasant afternoon in my local where one round of 4 drinks came to £17 !! There were two beers and two glasses of wine. Mostly going in tax I think.

Kings Head has shut.

Above the door it now says the Landlord is Lord Lucan. A local wag I presume.

(Adnams have stated a promise to find landlords for their popular pubs, such as the Ramsholt Arms, but at an estimated £1000 per week rent, who is crazy enough to risk their all and end up bankrupt? Times change but I believe there is too much greed in this business, but I dont know and dont need to know all the goings on behind the scenes, but its messing with my social/relaxation times and destinations!)

The Ramsholt Arms is owned by the Adeane family NOT Adnams brewery
