Thought it might be useful topost an update based on my passage in today.

Took a straight line directly between the outer red and inner green buoys at pretty much bang on high water.

Never had less than 4m of water. Even had a visit from a seal

Yep, the new buoy positions were published in the last few days. Not that you'd want to try and make the passage if you couldn't see them (or I certainly wouldn't, anyway!)
