Be careful you don't suggest anything that may hurt those poor orcas.

Would be interesting to see a comparison of antifoul colours - nature is good at presenting danger y showing bright colours. Do newly painted red boats get less hassle than grey coloured rudders?
No. The sharks are a problem there and nearly all of them are shore based.I’m off to Lymington this weekend… should I be worried
Yeah, one causes a big explosion undewater and the other causes a big explosion underwater. Easily to confuse the two. It's not a depth charge, it's une grenade sous-marine.
Yea could do the job , but not sure it rudder would be untack
Possible - our boat stopped dead in the water when we hit a basking shark. Is it time for me to start a business offering to build shark cages around rudders? Trouble is I suspect they are only strong enough because they will move when hit. If attached to a heavy hull would a decent sized orca crush it? To make it strong enough it would be heavy and create a lot of drag. Maybe something lighter which disguised or hid the rudder... Rudder tunnels?
Seriously though, I wonder if a thunderflash would discourage them ? I know they can be thrown in water as they are sometimes used to recall divers.
My number 2 just not that big enough to cause a thunder flash mind you it may clear out the head pipe .Seriously though, I wonder if a thunderflash would discourage them ? I know they can be thrown in water as they are sometimes used to recall divers.
Maybe it would just make the orcas angrier ?
Not seen any scientific analysis (of hull type) But, based on the CA / Orca Iberica site reports, plus those posted to YouTube and Facebook, the Orca have had a go at: Fin and spade (X- yacht), fin and twin (Amel), Fin and Skeg (Najad), Long (Nauticat), Lifting (Ovni) and Cat (Outremer). So hull type doesn’t seem to be a big factor - other than it’s a sailing type, with relatively large & exposed rudder(s).Is anyone analysing the hull types of the boats attacked?
Currently, in A Coruna about to head for Falmouth. Spotted a whale south of Fisterra yesterday, but unable to identify species.

Seems to be a real puzzle why this is happening. In fairly recent times they have even turned against long time trainers at shows which is probably unsurprising considering their conditions.
Like the USA , the females apparently control everything.
