Orca outboard owners

Anyone here got any first-hand experience with owning an orca outboard? Looking for a 6-8hp engine at the moment. I know they are cheap Chinese knocks off but wondering how cheap.

My brother has just bought an 8 hp one. Fitted to a 3.2 metre sib.

Still running it in but he's got on the plane up to about 13 knots.

Key feature is it is the lightest 8 hp 4 stroke on the market so much more likely be used one handed.

Quality is ok actually.

Think it was about £800 all up with tank.

What boat are thinking of fitting it to?

How long has he had it, had much use? did he buy direct from boatworld? I see they are 975 now.

2 hrs use so far so new...

£975 is still very cheap compared to other brands - just depends what you expect from it..
