I am not sure of the all differences either - but a very important one is I believe that to compete for the Jules Verne you have to pay an entry fee (about 30,000 Euros for the first year of competing, I think).

Steve Fossett refused to pay the fee so that's way Cheyenne own the outright record but not the Jules Verne as they refuse to recognize it.

Either way Orange II is going to claim both this time to staop any arguments.

Do you know if the fee is the only difference? I think that it may be but am not certain of that.

Also, do you know who the Jules Verne Association is?

The fee gets your name engraved on the Jules Verne trophy as I understand it.
