Ok, well - I guess it is nice to have the choice. I am aware that personal tatse is subjective, but here is how I would rank them from worst to best and why:

4. Cranchi Zaffiro 34: Bigger than suggestes at 37", but horrid all white interior which just looks naff.

3. Doral 330 Se: Nice cockpit and they are well made. Good dealer network but the open plan interior is rubbish. 34" boats need two cabins

2. Sessa Oyster 35: Good layout but front cabin is an OPTION. Fit and finish a little bit on the light side but a good looking modern boat.

1. Fairline Targa 37: 10 years old but a load of boat for the money. FL fit and finish and will probably loose less money than the others. First of the modern looking Targas and still looks freash even next to the T38.

Wildcard: If you are looking for that type of boat I can't reccommend the BMB 330 enough. I know I have just bought one, but I looked at most of the boats in your list bar the T37 and the BMB is head and shoulders above the rest. I know there is a 2001 boat at Port Solent with KAD 44's and a good spec for 90k.

Hi The only comment i can make is about the cranchi,,Jez is right about the horrid white interior on early 2002 boats ,,but they did upgrade the model in late 2002 with a much warmer wood interior,,i would make sure you have the latest model as im sure they would be easier to resell

not boat specific - but didnt KAD42's have reliabilty problems at some point? but later models [43|44] were ok.

zaffiro did it for me when doing a similar excercise last xmas, but managed to get a 2003 with the much better interior.
am still amazed with the space and design features. sea keeping is excellent and will easily resell.

According to recent (last few months) bit in MBM they had some early teething troubles such as the expansion/header tank being a bit on the small side and a propensity for shredding 'supercharger' belts. All ironed out on the later kad 42's (which 1996 will be) according to the article. We have KAD 42's and not aware of any general reliability issues - basically an upgrade on the AD41's which are generally regarded as 'bullet proof'.

Thinking of a change then Doug?
I'd go for the Targa...but then I would say that wouldn't I /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif!!

I don't know if mooring is an issue, but if I had that kinda money to spend it would only go one way....

Cranchi Offshore 39 - I just think it's GORGEOUS - although of course still has only one main cabin and a guest cabin - but I love everything else

All 4 boats you are talking about are at Burton Waters, i know a little history on each one if your interested? Pm me.

Its all relative to your needs, personaly Id have a Cranchi in terms of build, handling and value for money. The Fairlines also a good boat in terms of build and resale. Wouldnt go for the BMB like buying a Volvo car - my opinion!

The Cranchi at BWM was peviously at Essex and was up for £101,000. I tried to buy it but someone beat me to it! Personally I would get the Z34 as I still want one but have had to take a raincheck for a year.

We looked at the T37, a BMB and the Cranchi 34. Didn't like the layout (or the residuals) on the Cranchi; didn't like the joinery on the BMB; loved the T37 for layout, build quality, and residuals. Bought one in August last year and are very happy with it. If you buy privately your budget should stretch to one with kad44's, which I would definitely recommend.

Cheers
Jimmy
