I have been working on an open source hardware/software project under the guise Nauti-Control . So far I have produced a hardware interface for Seatalk (Raymarine), this includes Wifi, Bluetooth as well as Wireless 433mhz interface .
Open Source Marine Hardware/Software

Demo of it in action
Wireless Remote Control Demo

It currently interfaces with raymarine seatlak autopilots for controlling remotely as well as interfacign and displayign seatalk data such as speed /depth .
Demo of seatalk to open CPN

i've also completed an android wear os app for smart watches to control it over bluetooth (and display data)
Demo of smart watch contriolling auto pilot

As well as more recently completing a cross platform (IOS/Android/Windows) App to interface over bluetooth to remotely control Pilot
Demo Smart phone controlling Raymarine Auto Pilot

The source is available for the hardware and software onNauti Control Github

Just to check my understanding:

If I have a modern STNG network hosting the autopilot which is connected the legacy Seatalk1 network with wind, depth etc (and the autopilot can steer to wind from this).

All I would need from you is the hardware interface (£120) and then I could control it from either the boat’s Android tablet or my iPhone or my wife’s Apple Watch?

Correct , there are two types of devices , one that connect to sea talk and one that connects to the sea talk NG . if you've the Sea talk to NG adapter then either works .

I wrote an article on choosing
https://nauti-control.com/2025/10/26/choosing-between-the-nauti-control-st-wireless-and-n2k-wireless-modules/

Having used the Orca Core device’s ability to do that, I can certainly recommend the novelty value of steering your boat from your watch, and it’s legitimately useful sometimes too, like peering over the bow when there are lots of lobster pots about (plus of course being too lazy to stretch across to the control panel when you’re comfy).

My use case is when i'm sailing solo , the tack functions are handy as it's a one button press rather than trying to remember the combo on the st2000 . Also when coming back in putting out fenders packing away sail etc and need to make adjustments to course so not having to run back as our bay has a few cardinals to dodge.

@philipb78 Does your new N2K interface relay AIS data from n2k over wifi as well as GPS/speed/wind etc data? At the moment we have ais and other data being sent over wifi via a yakker through a converter over nmea0183.

AIS isnt something i've added as the project was originally SEATALK and there was no commands for such to convert to/from however with NMEA2000 there is a lot more scope with the N2k Wireless box so will add it to the list

Use CHRISTMAS code to get 10% off up until 31st December.

That would be a great addition - it would mean all the data can come from one place. I assume being esp32 based it's possible to upgrade the firmware at a later date.

Yes - the firmware is constantly evolving with new features and can download updates from the website .

I'm hoping to get the new apps up for IOS/Android as they have a nice Dashboard so you can add widgets as you want. There are some cool ones like wind shift that shows the wind oscilations and if it's shifting port/starboard etc. A wind rose display with heading and wind data on one place.

You talk about an "open source" solution?
Where can I review the source code? - the hadware specs? - and perhaps the electronic schema / cirquit?
I would like to have a detailed understanding of the functionality of your "open source" project.

Thank you - great work. Keep on going and make shure, that the SW is of high quality = few bugs ... good performance, reliable, stable. Please do not do an update each week: On a boat, we as seafarers do not want to play all day with SW issues: make a professional update / release plan and do good support for the people who buy your system: Then you will provide a very professional tool and I guess you will find good customers.
