AIS showing target close by in the marina . But it's listing target further out but not showing them on the chart .

Select "Chart Panel Option" ( 3 bars bottom right).
Check that Minimise less critical targets is not ticked.

There are two Android versions. The free one is old and unsupported. I can't help with that one.
On the new, "official" version it's in the chart menu;

Both version are on Google Play. I'm not saying the old one won't work with AIS; just that I'm not familiar with it.
If you didn't pay for it, then it's the old version.
The cost for the new supported verion is just under £8 and it's a one-off payment.
The author's name is Dave Register. He's the lead guy on the main development team.

Thanks John , it worked ok on my old Samsung tab and it seen to work on the new one but only showing the boats I needed the marina even tho in the AIS list it listing boats just out side the harbour with in a few miles

Oh OK,
Take a look at Settings - Ships - > AIS targets
The first option suppresses targets over a certain distance. It sounds as though you have that option set.

Latest version is 5.0.8. If it's the version by maison automatic ditch it, ancient and unsupported.
