Open cpn advice

Hi
Not being tech savvy a little advice sought please.

I’ve been sent some charts to use on openCPN.
I’ve downloaded openCPN on
My laptop and the files which I believe areMBTiles files I don’t seam to be able to open or upload.
If anyone has a top tip or tips to do this it would be appreciated. I do have BT IT support but like most things now they arnt interested apart from the monthly subscription.

Which version of OpenCPN? The free one is a very ancient, frozen one. You may need the paid version.

Hi, so you should have opencpn v5.10.2 or near that installed
To get the charts first click the gear icon which will open up the options, then click o charts, chart files >



Click on add directory then go find where you stored the files. Then click the little box to select "scan charts and update database" and OK. Give it a minute and that should be it!
But it will be a mess!!!! Chart groups next, same place click on "chart groups", create a new group then double click on the directories in the top pane if you need to to find the area you want , click add and should be it, number keys on the keyboard switch between chart groups



Also the manual is in this Ai so anything at all you don't understand just assume you're talking to a guy who knows the prog at yacht club bar and keep asking.

That's android, he's on a laptop. The ancient version might have gone now which is a good thing

Thanks. I managed to download a few charts last night and they were exactly what I needed. Thanks GHA. I’ll have another look later and see how I get on but make progress now.
