The Dutch met office has got a lot more pessimistic during the morning. I'm unlikely to complete the first leg of the trip tonight.

so are you still going? I am looking at predict wind and it says 5's tomorrow dropping to 4's from w to sw then on monday it varies from 2 -4 from south -south west then variable

I've just made the decision to bail out. 
Tomorrow would have been OK. But I need to do the first part tonight and that's not going to happen with the forecast F8

With Bernie having to reschedule and Doug being delayed till Saturday there is no point in thrashing across now pitty. Weather is looking OK for a night crossing WNW 12 to 15Knts at Shotley at the moment . Still the up side is or was dinner in the Butt and a couple of pints of Adnams best and a lie in tomorrow, there will allways be another day and another crossing. Grockling tomorrow see what Saturday brings Lowestoft perhaps not been there for 50 years.

Well the weather was much as expected, perhaps a little lighter WNW 8 to 12Knts here and Ostend. It would have been a cool (temp) and cool
run across with the chute up looking to moderate from yesterdays forcasts Wind Guru has consistantly got it there or thereabouts as allways. Be interesting to watch over the next few days, ah well off to Amsterdam and the Ijsselmeer in 3 weeks see what that brings

The wind was changing all over the place and settled right up the 'chuff' i am amazed that my battens held out. what with the sloppy sea it was a very uncomfortable crossing.
Worth it for the sail back yesterday, a reach with between 9-15knots apparent, between 13-15 knots we were going like a train!
