Oostend here we come

Well done the persistence of the CA.

I will seriously reconsider my RYA renewal

Re.fuel in Ostend : if you get caught short you can go temporarily to the Royal yacht Club pontoon at the head of the the harbour (ask their berthing master to let you in/out) and carry cans a short distance from the garage immediately opposite the club.

When it says 100% fuel duty must be paid, does that mean a receipt with the usual 60/40 split will not be accepted?

I read it as that! Bottom line, get a reciept for car diesel the day before you go or fill up at the marina and declare 100%, Market forces always prevail, stupid has had to come begging for our custom!

Or hire a 2 man peddle machine from the promenade & goto the BP

Errr.....it’ll still be red. That should really fire them up.

They accept that there is red in there, they allegedly say that they want receipts for tax paid diesel. They know there will be a mix. So fill the car with diesel near the date of the departure, get a receipt for tax paid diesel. How do they know whether it went in the boat or not! duh!

You would need some white in the tank to "dilute" the red a bit.
When I left Holyhead my tank diesel was a mucky brown. The combination of Irish green from Dun Laoaghre, white from the Tesco and red from HH did that. On the way down I bought some in France which was a greeny colour which changed with the angle that you viewed it, much as some fancy metallic cars do
